This is our favorite Mexican restaurant! The service is always on Par, food tastes great, and the value is out of this world! I love chicken enchiladas verde and this is the only one who gets it right! Simple fresh salsa verde, and quickly prepared dishes! I always recommend this to friends and family.

BF and I went on a Friday night. A friend recommended it. Now I usually judge a mexican place by their chips and salsa...this salsa, not so great. Tasted just like tomato sauce. The funny thing is I overhead a lady ask her server if they had anything less spicy...what did she want, ketchup? LOL. They do have a special very spicy salsa if you ask for it, and that was a little better. BF and I ordered the Hawaiin fajitas for two. It came out very quickly on a sizzling hot pan...the aroma was heavenly...shrimp, beef, chicken with onions and peppers and grilled pineapple chunks. Those were some of the best fajitas I've ever had. I highly recommend them. The side of rice & beans were ok. They only give you two tortillas at a time so you'll have to ask for more. Great prices, with the fajitas for two, and a beer it cost under $30. great deal...and we had some leftover too. The servers are very friendly and attentive. We will be back.

Great Mexican Restaurant. If you ask, they have some real hot salsa. We ordered the veggie fajitas, as well as a vegetarian bean and rice burrito. To make the meal more vegan, we asked for no cheese. Chips were good and the salsa was some of the best in the area that we have tried so far. Food was all excellent. Service was excellent. Thanks!

Love it! Best pollo acapulco. The service is stellar, the food is cheap, and the drinks are strong. I have no complaints.

Good Mexican food with awesome prices. Stopped in for lunch while traveling through the area, two adults and two kids cost less than $20 before tip. My kids loved the salsa because it wasn't spicy. I thought it had good flavor even without the heat.

I love Los Potros. It's tasty. It's cheap. It's about one step away from being a fast food restaurant. But that's okay! They're like Taco Bell, if Taco Bell sold Mexican food. There's an entire lunch menu of combos you can get for under ten bucks, and all of them will fill you up. They're extremely generous with drinks and refills, and every visit comes with all the tortilla chips you can eat. Their salsa is basically tomato paste, but I blame it on the predominately gringo clientele who would probably complain if it were any spicier than Ragu. The people are nice and the service is always quick. You can be in and out in 20 minutes even during rush hour. The only problems (for some) are that a few of the servers don't know a whole lot of English, and being seated next to rude vegans who for some reason always seem shocked that this place isn't Chipotle. I swear, this has happened to me at least 3 times already. People, it's okay to ask for special orders. It's okay to send your plate back if you're not satisfied. It's not okay to yell like a belligerent jackass at a poor waiter who barely understands you because you feel like your onions are too greasy. Why do you even eat here if you think everything is going to kill you? Go home and munch some organic granola.

The food and service here is excellent! The best Mexican food I've ever had. We passed through town for lunch on our way to the mountains. We were so impressed with our meal that day that we detoured here for lunch on the way back. Affordable, delicious and quick. Definitely a good choice!!

Our whole family loves to eat here. There is a great family atmosphere and the staff is beyond attentive. The food is the best local Mexican I have had and the prices are even better. The salsa is the best I have ever had. Forget going anywhere else!

Cheap decent Mexican food. If you're looking for the cheapest, most mediocre Mexican in town, this is a winner. There's nothing fancy about Los Potros, but i wouldn't expect anymore from the town of east ridge. I typically get their Pollo Loco because it's hard to mess up rice, cheese, and grilled chicken. Their salsa is very reminiscent of pasta sauce. The pricing is the best thing about Los Potros. You can get two full meals for under $20 with beverages. ALSO, margaritas are 2.99 here all day every day. They're strong and they make this place worth the mediocre food. The servers are also nice. Sometimes mediocrity is acceptable at a low price if margaritas are involved.

Great Mexican food! Small personable family restaurant. Price was very affordable too! Portions are nice and will definitely not leave you wanting more even though it's so delicious. My family had the chicken quesadillas, chicken enchiladas and the fajitas hawaiana.... all delicious! A must stop while in Chattanooga. Will return! :-)

In town from California. Crazy rain so we looked for something close and found this little jewel. We had the Carne asafa do ner and it was delicious, the service was a+. There were plenty of diners but it was nice and quiet. When we see serviced the chips, we we given a bottle of salsa and two dishes so we could double dip. A huge selection of meals and most of the selections were made vegetarian. I would 100% eat here again. Prices were very reasonable.

Good fajita burrito, draft beer prices, and service. Atmosphere is so-so. But still one of my favorite Mexican restaurants!

fast service, great prices, good selection, not a typical Mexican clone, they use fresh ingredients, like poblano peppers instead of green peppers for chili relleno, they add spices to their meats instead of sautéing it up in buttery sauces, making a healthier, tastier meal. bring your appetite and a few bucks

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
